Deepen your connection and understanding of the sacred side of yoga.
A Mantra is an instrument of the mind—a word, sound, or phrase repeated that you can use to enter a deep state of meditation. Like a seed planted with the intention of blossoming into a beautiful perennial, a mantra can be thought of as a seed for energizing an intention. Much in the same way you plant a flower seed, you plant mantras in the fertile soil of practice. You nurture them and over time they bear the fruit of your intention.
Mudras are gestures of the hands that promote physical health, psychological balance and spiritual awakening. Mantras clear the way and heal the heart. Mudras recalibrate the subtle body. Malas are used as a tool to help the mind focus on meditation, or count mantras in sets of 108 repetitions.
In this 2-hour class, you will learn the meaning and correct pronunciation of many of the mantras you hear in class. A variety of Mudras will be shared which you will be able to incorporate into your daily practice. And you will learn how to use a Mala in conjunction with both.
We will explore how these ancient Yogic practices can help guide energy flow and shift both the mind and the body into a greater space of well-being, peace and presence.
All are welcome! A great choice for Yoga teachers who would like to enrich their own classes with the ancient ways.
Please bring a 108 bead Mala or there will be Malas, created by Prema, available for purchase.
A comprehensive manual is included with the class.
